As we surpass two decades of the 21st century, we also surpass one decade of employment expansion in the State of Minnesota. While this is certainly a milestone to celebrate, the state’s labor market is in uncharted territory with numerous factors creating a complex reality for all Minnesotans. Record low unemployment, record-high job vacancies, an aging population, slowing labor force growth, persistent disparities, changing educational and training requirements for work….this presentation will highlight these complex realities in the state’s labor market, with a special focus on higher education.
Main takeaways for this presentation include:
· Trends in the labor market for those with a Bachelor’s degree or greater
· Growing industries in the Twin Cities Metro Area and Greater Minnesota
· High wage and in-demand occupations throughout the state
· Audience members will also be shown where they can find more information and resources online.
