Date & Time

Selected Sessions:

Description
Screen readers are an essential part of digital accessibility. People who are blind, have low vision, are photosensitive, or have learning or cognitive disabilities use screen readers to navigate computers, smart phones, apps, web browsers, and more. It is essential that digital tools and materials be created in a way that allows screen readers to navigate and read all of the information aloud. In this session, you will learn screen reader accessibility best practices from two of the University of Minnesota’s experts: Academic Technologist DM Lavoie (they/them) and Senior Digital Accessibility Analyst Luke Kudryashov (he/they). They will explain common issues and demonstrate what to check for and how to test content with these applications: VoiceOver on MacOS, JAWS on Windows, VoiceOver on iOS, Talkback on Android. They will share additional resources for further learning and also allow time for questions. We hope you will join us for this informative session to improve digital accessibility at the University of Minnesota. Join the Accessibility Ambassador's Google Group by visiting z.umn.edu/a11y-group
