From Ageism to Age-Friendly: Shifting the Conversation about Aging
Ageism is a pervasive form of bigotry, and it can find its way into everyday life without even recognizing it. Our path to end ageism can begin with simple age-friendly principles and practices you can add to your life and work. This interactive workshop led by Rajean P. Moone, Associate Director of Education at the University of Minnesota School of Public Health's Center for Healthy Aging & Innovation, will provide a background on ageism, how it impacts our lives and communities, and tools to assess and develop an action plan to move towards a more age-friendly community.

Learning objectives:
- Trace the history of ageism and how it appears in today's society
- Describe the impact of ageism on older adults and communities
- Identify various was to eliminate ageism through age-friendly practices
