Bad Stuff, Trauma and PTSD: How COVID blew the lid off it all
Coming from a place of relative obscurity and psychotherapy specialty, the topic of
trauma has forced its way into society’s awareness. With trauma now appearing everywhere we look, how do we differentiate between the bad stuff of life that all of us have, and the traumatic reactions that only some of us have? And what do we do when they’re happening in our patients, our colleagues, our children, and ourselves?

In this webinar led by Jane McCampbell Stuart, M.A., LMFT, CPCC, participants will learn to identify the hallmarks of trauma and traumatic reactions, and how the many faces of the pandemic became a triggering event for previously dormant traumatic experiences – including medical emergencies, asthma attacks, needle phobias, lost loved ones, mistrust of authority figures, and parents at war with each other.

Participants will be offered simple techniques for managing traumatic reactivity in the moment, and ways of caring for all of the body’s rhythms and systems to bring long term healing and resilience.

Learning objectives:
- Identify the differences between covert trauma, overt trauma, and PTSD
- Describe the hallmarks of a traumatic reaction and how to respond when you encounter
- Name the most vital component of any successful trauma treatment

Please note that this webinar is only open to nurses and health professionals.
Noon to 1 p.m. Central

Participants can earn 1.0 continuing nursing education contact hours.
