Hi Robert- could you add your question to the Q&A?

50:07
Birdsfoot Trefoil https://www.dnr.state.mn.us/invasives/terrestrialplants/herbaceous/birdsfoottrefoil.html

53:32
Robert - I think the cardboard will kill most everything by next spring and should not take another full year

53:33
How long you wait between after round up? It’s illegal in Canada we can still use it here?

54:37
I'm surprised the use of roundup is even mentioned as an option. Stuff is toxic and should be taken off the market.

54:46
I know

54:51
Read the Round-Up label and it must list lawns and will state how long to wait before seeding or planting

56:08
Ways to Get Flowers In Your Turf 1) overseed into existing turf, 2) scalp the grass then overseed, 3) remove grass, seed fine fescue and flower into bare soil 4) scalp the grass and aerate, overseed with fine fescue and flowers,

58:15
Hi Elaine- do you have a place you like to get seed?

59:00
Still needs mowing?? Sorry I came in late

01:00:35
Limited mowing makes the bee lawn look more acceptable to neighbors, keeps grass from shading flowers and is better for lawn sports etc

01:00:51
great

01:02:49
Best treatments- scalping your turf (mow really low), then overseeding… OR scalping and aerating (perforating the soil) then overseeding

01:03:47
And pets..

01:04:26
What type of Thyme is it again?

01:05:48
The thyme is serpyllum: https://www.outsidepride.com/seed/ground-cover-seed/creeping-thyme/creeping-thyme-groundcover-seed.html

01:06:32
Thank you Laura

01:07:36
Just a comment, smaller bees and flys seem to love our black eyed susens

01:10:17
Love seeing the chat- a reminder if you'd like to share a message with your fellow attendees select the option "all panelists and attendees"

01:14:03
Red clover is a much coarser and larger plant and normally dies out with lawn mowing. It grows in many lawn areas at the Arboretum that we mow high and only a few times per year

01:15:38
Honey bees around us use the Bird bath to get a drink, the day I took it down they acted very confused. A water source may be a thing to consider.

01:15:53
The presentation will be on the website later

01:16:21
Yes I see them in my bird bath too

01:29:34
Apparently vinegar will kill weeds

01:30:03
Vinegar is tricky- to be effective it has to be a high concentration that makes it less safe than you'd think

01:30:33
Good to know!

01:30:33
Extension Yard and Garden is a good source of solid information on what to use for weed removal.... more so than social media.

01:32:00
