Can you describe how you document and archive the projects as you go along? All on computer? Paper files?

How useful is CAPM certification in terms of librarianship as a career? Or is it just a stepping stone to full PMP certification?
Michele
46:51
what if a project was already started but not really with any defined start end, person in charge, or any one person asked to manage this would it be helpful to go back and do those thing?
Lily Morgan
49:39
I'm not sure how I feel about projects needing to have a set end-date. Can you expand more on that? Is it just to make sure it gets done if you have folks who need a deadline to get things done, or if there's an important date when it needs to be completed (like beginning of semester)..?

Thank you!
Michele

I don't think the end date needs to be set in stone but more like a goal to get something accomplished by a certain date, our library is doing a major weeding project and it keeps getting stopped and started, the END goal is to rearrange stacks within the building but that cannot be done until weeding is finalized
Lily Morgan
52:46
Yeah- we're starting a huge weeding project too. :)
Michele
52:57
what I am really asking is if it's worth while to go back and set this up more formally

We weeded for three years. Now, we are doing an inventory of our 68,000 books and then, we will shift the whole collection because of all of the empty shelves.. I do have an end date to make sure I keep the project moving.

Any advice about how to balance leading the team but also allowing the team help brainstorm the best way to perform the work required to complete a project? I’m thinking about a project I’m about to start leading for developing a new service, so there is some ideation involved throughout and I want the team to feel like they are helping make decisions and not just being told what to do and when (if that makes sense)
