The data file for STATA assignment 1 doesn’t download as a file it just opens a web page with all the data on it. Should we copy and paste it into an Excel file? I told my computer to download the web page as a txt file is that fine to use?

You can right click on the link and click 'save link' and it'll let you save the .dat file on your computer. (for windows)

So, for students in SOC 3811, the STATA assignments --- including the one due Friday --- are no longer required. If you want to learn STATA and choose to turn in those assignments, that's great --- we will support you, offer assistance, react to your assignments, etc. For students in SOC 5811, the STATA assignments are still required. You'll need to know how to use STATA for SOC 8811 and in other more advanced classes and settings.
