I have a bit of confusion on the variable types

36:12
242.9

44:17
thanks prof!

44:36
not a question about stata but about working around non-functioning stata

44:56
what should we do if our stata still isn't working by the end of the week

45:26
umn tech support is not filling me with confidence

45:37
^^^^!!!!

45:42
^^

45:47
Hey Liam you should reach to Rob or your TA in office hours

45:54
^^

46:44
so i just need to wait an hour to actually get my question answered

47:00
How do you open an file? Like export it?

47:17
For percentile, do you look at the cumulative percent or the percent on the left of the data

47:27
Liam yes or send email

47:40
i will send an email

47:40
I can’t access any files on STATA, so I can’t pull up the code or the excel data

47:54
Not a question but more a comment, I was having trouble adding an account to my citrix kept getting a pop up saying "certificate provided by the server is not trusted. Account cannot be added" turns out my problem was my WIFI because it wasn't password protected went and used campus wifi and it worked.

48:06
Could you explain the proper way to import raw data to stata

48:07
Twisha - are you referring to Course Page? Right click and save link as” option

48:56
See STATA videos for import data and use syntax in sample do file

49:06
Comment: For everyone with issues about opening a data file into Stata, I recommend using a USB drive and saving the data onto the drive. Make sure to have the file name contain the file format (ex: .xlsx). You can open the file from Stata if you select the removable drive instead of My PC.

49:41
Abigail use Google Drive to save files then open in Stata

50:03
How do you figure out what percentile your score is?

50:12
^^^

50:32
How do we open this week’s data set into STATA? It just opens up as its own window

51:09
Right click, save as.

51:20
Right click “save link as”; then use the import syntax in sample do file

51:35
* to import the data file into sata

52:18
Ask question again if we miss it in chat

52:32
For percentile, do you look at the cumulative percent or the percent on the left of the data

52:47
cumulative percentage

53:19
It’s still not working, my google drive isn’t pulling up in STATA even though I’ve synched it with Kumo. No files are pulling up. I’m still trying to get help from IT but they seem just as confused as I am

53:46
^having the same issue

54:32
I think we will need to look more into the Google Drive issue but that is more of a IT folks question

54:43
But we will put pressure on them to get us a answer

54:51
^ I saved the files to google drive and they won’t open in stata

55:22
Madeline be sure to use the import syntax in the sample do file

56:42
If other are not getting responses from IT be sure to include your TA and/or Rob.

01:11:12
I created a new folder in google drive and dragged to files from the email into the folder to get it into google drive if that helps… my issue is that I can’t get the do file to open in stata

01:12:09
You will have to use the infix syntax on the sample do file

01:12:37
Wait the do file you can use the drop down window at top of STATA

01:13:20
Yes I got to the drop down window, but I can’t find the file as it is in my google drive and not saved to my computer

01:14:00
Double check that the STATA dialogue box (the Ctrl O window) has selected "All Files" in the bottom corner

01:14:21
STATA can open many types of files (and there are many sub-file types related to STATA) so you have to change the target extension

01:15:18
I got it when I selected all files instead of do files. Thanks so much!
