Join the UMN Extension Regional Sustainable Development Partnerships (RSDP) for a series of workshops that dive deep into action you can take to create a welcoming community in Greater Minnesota. Hear from community leadership, businesses, and arts and cultural organizations about how they are implementing practices that welcome and include all community members. The workshops will be useful to anyone interested in taking action to ensure their town is welcoming to all residents.
The workshops build on an RSDP project (https://extension.umn.edu/rsdp-happenings/creating-welcoming-communities) that involved working with partners in two communities to explore their welcoming efforts and develop the guide Creating a Welcoming Community: A Toolkit to Support Immigrants, Refugees, and BIPOC. (https://conservancy.umn.edu/handle/11299/215248)
Register for one workshop, or all three! Registration space is limited to accommodate small group breakout discussions. Additional information, including presenters, will be added as available.
Workshops will be from 12:00pm to 1:30pm.
Alyssa Scott, UMN Master’s of Public Health student, and Molly Zins, UMN Extension Central RSDP Executive Director, will host the workshops and provide an overview of the Creating a Welcoming Community toolkit. In each workshop, community leaders will offer a deep dive into their partnerships and actions that are helping to create more welcoming and inclusive communities across Greater Minnesota.
Free Registration: Registration is required. Register for one or more sessions. You will receive a link to the Zoom meeting room after you register.
